An ileostomy is a stoma made from the ileum, the last section of the small intestine…ile (ileum) – ostomy (stoma). An ileostomy is usually formed on the right side of the abdomen. The output is often quite loose and a drainable pouch is used, allowing the pouch to be emptied regularly.
